8/12/14 - NEXT CONCERT! - District 118 Band Night!

The first performance of the 2014-2015 school year will feature the WMS and MMS 7th and 8th grade bands, along with the WHS Marching Bulldogs, at pregame and halftime of the WHS Football Game on September 5th. Information about this event can be found below. 

2014 District 118 Marching Band Night Information

 

When:             Friday, September 5th, 5:30 pm arrival, 7:00 and 8:30 performances
Where:            Main Entrance, Wauconda High School
What:              Pregame and Halftime performances with

                        WHS Marching Bulldogs.
Attire:             Jeans and Middle School Band T-Shirt. Layer under tshirt for warmth if necessary.

Schedule:      

          Students need to arrive at WHS Main Entrance no later than 5:30.

          Store cases in WHS East Cafeteria

          Rehearse with WHS Marching Bulldogs on Baseball field 5:45-6:30

          Perform Pregame (Star Spangled Banner and On Wauconda)

          Eat dinner provided by WHS Band Boosters in East Cafeteria – 7:30 ish

          Move out to track to prepare for halftime performance – 8:10 ish

          Half-time performance – 8:30 ish

          Return to East Cafeteria to pick up cases and meet parents at main entrance – 8:45. Students MUST have a plan in place to meet their parents at the game or get picked up at this time. We will be unable to supervise band students following the return to the cafeteria. WHS Policy states that MS students must be supervised by an adult attending WHS Football.

IN CASE OF RAIN:

          Students will be notified by 2PM Friday ONLY if the performance WILL NOT take place. If no announcement is made, the performance is still on.  If it begins to rain later in the afternoon, BE AT WHS at 5:30! A decision will be made closer to performance time depending on the severity of the weather. DO NOT ASSUME there will not be a performance if it is raining. Students that do not attend on Friday will have it counted as a missed performance.

ATTIRE:

          Jeans and your Middle School Band T-Shirt. If you need a shirt, they are available for $10 from your Band Director. Make checks payable to MMS Bands or WMS Bands. Shirts will be on hand that evening to ensure everyone is in uniform. If it is chilly, please layer UNDER the shirt so we are all still “in uniform.”

PARENT ASSISTANCE

          We still need more parent help to ensure the evening is successful. Please consider helping chaperone and supervise – many hands make for light work!
