Wauconda Middle School BANDS
SUMMER CAMP INFO
We strongly encourage WMS band students to attend a summer band camp. It is a great way to learn more about your instrument and grow as a musician in a supporting and educational environment, while having a TON of FUN!
Mr. Hunter works at the Music for All Summer Symposium, a national band camp hosted at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Several D118 students have attended this camp in past years. Travel is available via coach bus from Quinlan & Fabish as well! MFA runs from 6/24-6/29. A $50 registration coupon is available by clicking the image to the right.
If Muncie is too far, there are several camps in Illinois hosted by state universities that occur different weeks of the summer as well. All are great! Consider attending!
- Illinois State University, Normal, IL - 6/16-6/22
- Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL - 6/23-6/28
- ISYM at University of Illinois, Urbana, IL - 7/7-7/13 and 7/14-7/20
- Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL - 7/14-7/20

The 2018-2019 school year is here! We are so excited to meet you and begin a wonderful year of making music! All band members will soon be bringing home our 2018-2019 Information Packet that contains our Grading Policy, Lesson Guidelines, Uniform Guidelines, Calendar, and T-Shirt Order Form. All students will need to have this turned in by Friday, August 24th. If you have lost yours, a PDF can be found under the Documents and Forms tab above or by clicking on the image on the right. You may have to disable your pop-up blocker for this site in order to do so.
Mr. Hunter & Mrs. Tyler
The Wauconda Middle School Band Program serves more than 200 students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades at Wauconda Middle School. Bands are divided by grade level, and 6th grade meets in two sections to help our beginners receive more individualized instruction. Each curricular ensemble meets daily. Band students also receive small group lessons in a rotating pull-out schedule. Extracurricular offerings include Jazz Band, which meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings during 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter, and the D118 Solo and Ensemble Festival, which takes place each February.
