We are happy to provide the opportunity for Middle School Band Students to receive a scholarship to help attend any summer band camp of their choice! If selected, the student will receive a scholarship from the D118 Band Boosters that can be used to attend a summer band camp.

Directions: 

To apply for this opportunity, students need to write an essay answering the following questions:

1. For which music camp would you use this scholarship? 

2. Why did you choose this camp to attend? 

3. How do you want to improve your musicality by attending this camp? 

4. Why is being in band important to you? 

Essay Parameters:

• At least 1 page- double spaced, 12pt font. 

• You must answer all the questions listed above.

• First name, last name, grade, and school at the top of the page.

The deadline to submit your essay is Monday April 27th, 2026. 

Submission

• Email a copy of your essay to Mrs. Andolfi - aandolfi@d118.org - titled  “Your Name - Summer Band Scholarship Essay”

• Email a copy of the receipt of the camp you signed up for to the band boosters via this email: d118bandboosters@gmail.com- 

• Students must be signed up for the band camp of their choosing by the deadline of this application. 

Acceptance

• Students will find out if they have received the scholarship and the amount by the May concert.  Scholarships will be based on a percentage of the total cost and are variable between camps.

• Students must be signed up for the camp of their choosing by the deadline for the scholarship submission or order to receive this scholarship.
